We would like to inform you of recent news regarding Babboe, the Dutch manufacturer of cargo bikes, which may affect some of our products. An article was recently published by HLN reporting that a criminal investigation into Babboe is underway. The investigation suggests that the manufacturer deliberately covered up broken frames.
This news is disturbing and we understand that you may be concerned, especially if you own a Babboe cargo bike. As a supplier of these products, we want to be transparent about this issue and assure you that we are taking the matter seriously.
We are currently awaiting further developments regarding the study. In the meantime, we recommend that you exercise extra caution when using your Babboe cargo bike and, if necessary, have an inspection carried out by a qualified professional.
Four Babboe models have been recalled in our country. This concerns the Babboe City, City E, Mini and Mini-E. People who own one of those models must register their bicycle (with their frame number) via www.controljeframe.be, after which Babboe will contact them personally about the next steps,” says Meurisse.
Anyone who has a different model of Babboe cargo bike can also register on that website.
